AFA continued their strong form in the second match against Young Argentina, securing a 2-1 victory. Johnson Okpotu and Abdulsaham Sani both found the net, proving their attacking prowess. Odu Richard (AFA) was named Man of the Match for his outstanding display.
Thrilling Encounter Against Layin Zomo
One of the most entertaining matches of the tournament saw AFA edge out Layin Zomo in a 4-3 thriller. The game was a goal fest, with Johnson Okpotu scoring twice, alongside goals from Almustapha Ibrahim and Abdulsaham Sani. Layin Zomo fought back, but AFA’s determination saw them through. Johnson Okpotu’s exceptional performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
Dominance in the Knockout Rounds
In the Semi-Finals, AFA faced Flash, where a 1-1 draw led to a dramatic penalty shootout (11-10). Okpe Richard (AFA), the team’s goalkeeper, emerged as the hero, making decisive saves to send AFA to the Finals.
The Final match against DLC FC was another intense battle, ending 2-2 in regulation time. Abdulsaham Sani and Sinclair were the goalscorers for AFA, showcasing their attacking strength. The match was decided on penalties, where AFA triumphed 4-3, sealing a fantastic tournament campaign.
